50-Mile Walker
Congratulations to 3rd grader Ashton Sturgill, the first OHES student to reach the 50 Mile Level in the Walking Oaks Club. For his efforts, he received a digital pedometer and the 50-Mile charm for his club bracelet. Great job! January 2017
Shoe Donation
Oak Hill Elementary would like to thank King's Daughters Medical Center-Jackson, Clark's Giovannis in Oak Hill, Kali's Pizza, The Shoe Department, Judy and Darrell Lunsford, and Randy and Samantha Rainer for purchasing and donating shoes to 42 students in need at OHES. Each student received two pairs of brand new shoes. Pictured is Ashley McCain, a nurse at KDMC in Jackson, who led this shoe drive and delivered the shoes to the school.
Active Acorns Learn Krav Maga
The OHES Active Acorns Club welcomed Krav Maga Instructor Scott King to its meeting. The students learned various self defense techniques during his presentation. This was Scott's second year visiting the Acorns, and he is one of the students' most favorite guests. November 2016
25-Mile Walkers
Congratulations to 3rd graders Aiden Wisecup (L) and Dylan Sherman (R), who both have achieved 25 miles walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club. For their efforts, each received the club bracelet and t-shirt. Great job, boys! November 2016
