Jackson County EMS Visit
The Active Acorns Black Stripe Team welcomed Boats West from the Jackson County EMS at its recent meeting. Boats taught the Acorns about proper emergency response, Epi Pens, basic first aid, and CPR. Many thanks to Boats and Tim Jackson from the JCEMS for making this great educational experience possible for the students. October 2016

SOMC Visits the Active Acorns
The 2016-2017 Active Acorns got off to a great start with a visit from Southern Ohio Medical Center's Community Wellness Nurse Dawn Richards, who taught the Acorns about healthy eating habits and relaxation techniques to use when stressed. SOMC is also the sponsor of the Active Acorns and is co-sponsor of the OHE Walking Oaks Club this year. The members had a great time at the meeting with Dawn. October 2016
