This is an important update regarding kindergarten enrollment requirements in the state of Ohio. Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, new legislation establishes a consistent statewide age requirement for kindergarten entry. Under this change, children must be five years old on or before the first day of instruction in their school district to be eligible for enrollment. For Oak Hill Union Local Schools, kindergarten students must be five years old on or before August 20, 2026. 

This update replaces the previous system in which individual districts determined their own cutoff dates.
