Jackson County 4-H Scholarships 

  • Due MARCH 1st

  • Must be enrolled as a Jackson County 4-H member to be eligible.
  • Includes: Ohio Valley Bank 4-H Scholarship, 4-H Advisory Council Scholarship, Janie Hatfield 4-H Scholarship, Brent Jenkins Memorial 4-H Scholarship, Jackson County Livestock Scholarship Program, & Jackson County 4-H Horse Committee Scholarship.
  • TIP: Type everything you want to include in your application in a separate, blank document and copy & paste it into the Word or PDF version.
  • If submitted by February 1st, applications can be submitted to the state for Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards.

Ohio 4-H Scholarships

  • Information and online application can be found here.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Students do not need to be Ohio State students. Please advise students to select "Other" when applying if attending a different University. TWO local students won state 4-H scholarships last year to attend Rio Grande. 

Deadline for Scholarship application: Turned in by 11:59 p.m. on February 1st or March 1st (depending on awards preference) to the Jackson County Extension Office.

All mailed applications must be postmarked by the listed deadline. Emailing your digital application is preferred.

2025 Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) Scholarships

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is pleased to announce the availability of post-secondary opportunities from donor established funds within FAO, many honoring the legacy of a friend or loved one.

Remember the FAFSA window will open December 1st! You must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for grants and scholarships for the college/university/technical school you plan to attend.

FBP STEAM & Trade Scholarship

2025 FBP STEAM & Trade Scholarship Program

Sponsored by Fluor-BWXT 

Fluor-BWXT is excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the 2025 FBP STEAM and Trade scholarship program. In addition to the 10 $2,000 scholarships awarded to local students studying STEAM-related careers at a four-year university, FBP will also be awarding four $1,000 scholarships to students enrolling in a certification program or training for a trade career.

Students applying for the STEAM scholarship must be majoring in in a field related to science, technology, engineering, arts, or math. Qualifying art majors are limited to majors that would lead to careers on site like journalism, business, graphic design, and others. Students must also have a minimum grade point of average of 3.0 have been accepted to an accredited university.

Qualifications for the inaugural trade scholarship include a minimum grade point average of 2.8 and have been accepted into a two-year college or vocational program or pursing a trade degree or certificate.

The scholarship programs are open to all graduating seniors enrolled in schools located in Pike, Scioto, Ross, and Jackson counties.

Deadline for both scholarships - Due by 5 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025. 

Due to a security feature, this form doesn’t have the capacity to save and must be completed in one sitting. We do ask the students upload two recommendation letters and their transcripts with their social security number blacked out. We accept files that are PDFs, JPG and Word Documents.  Since the form must be completed in one sitting, we are recommending the student type out their essays in Microsoft Word, an email, or some similar program which could be copied and pasted it into the essay box.
