Oak Hill Elementary is excited to announce that we have been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Grant for the 2018-2019 OAKS After School program. Through this opportunity, the OAKS program will support high-quality, out-of-school time learning opportunities and related activities for students. OHE will be working in conjunction with the Gallia-Vinton Educational Service Center to provide this opportunity to our students. The program will be starting in October and more specific information will be forthcoming.
The 2018-2019 edition of the Active Acorns Fall Team had its first meeting, and the presenter was one of our most popular through the years. Scott King, local Krav Maga instructor, made his 5th visit to the Acorns, and he taught the club members about self defense and personal safety. This year, 77 students are enrolled in the Active Acorns, divided between the Fall and Winter Teams. The club is made possible by sponsors Southern Ohio Medical Center and the Jackson County Health Department. September 2018
