Students were recognized at the September meeting of the Board of Education for their high scores on last year's OAA. MS/HS Receives Dixon Grant

Oak Hill Middle/High School is happy to announce that it is a recipient of a J. Floyd Dixon Memorial Fund of Community Foundations, Inc. grant for 2014-2015 school year to help start an afterschool teacher lead tutoring program at the middle/high school. The Dixon Fund awards grants to non-profit organizations located in Jackson County that are focused primarily on education and health issues.
Student Receives National Honor

Oak Hill High School student Micaela A. Casto has been selected to be a member of The National Society of High School Scholars. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment.
The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.
"On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Micaela has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," said Mr. Nobel. "Micaela is now a member of a unique community of scholars - a community that represents our very best hope for the future."
Athlete of the Year Winner

Congratulations to Garrin Stiltner, winner of the Adena Sports Medicine 2014 Athlete of the Year award. Garrin, a May graduate of Oak Hill High School, will receive a $3,000 Adena Athlete of the Year scholarship. Additionally, the OHHS athletic department will receive $500.
The Adena Sports Medicine Team, in conjunction with the Adena Health Foundation, sponsors the Athlete of the Month program which seeks to recognize student athletes who have made a considerable effort to maintain a higher grade point average, community service, and also reach high levels of athletic accomplishment.
Teachers Award '14 Scholarship

The 2014 Oak Hill Union Local Education Association Scholarship was presented to Mr. Cole Hilderbrant. Cole, a member of the 2014 OHHS graduating class, served as choir president and National Honor Society member. Cole is an experienced thespian, most recently portraying the title character in “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” He has enrolled to the University of Rio Grande for fall majoring in education.
