Board Recognizes Students

BOE3 25 1Principal Adam Michael and Assistant Principal Whitney Crabtree were present at the March 2015 Board of Education meeting to recognize the following students as Millionaire Readers: (front, L-R) Aden Ford (gr. 5), Walker Fowble (gr. 2), Chloe Chambers (gr. 5), Garrett McNerlin (gr. 5), Two-Millionaire Word Reader Alexis Weese (gr. 5), and Riana Pena (gr. 4).

BOE3 25 2These students (front, L-R) were also recognized for Completion of Common Core Reading – Study Island: Chelsea Cattee (gr. 3); Completion of Common Core Math – Study Island: Franklin Adkins (gr. 3), Sara Coon (gr. 3), Mason Davis (gr. 3), Carly Jones (gr. 3), Melanie Shepherd (gr. 3), and Nathaniel Shephard (gr. 3).

Walking Oaks Club Achievers

15 garrett m15 AddisonCongratulations to two 5th grade students on their recent Walking Oaks Club achievements. Garrett McNerlin (L) reached 50 miles walked and earned a new pedometer. Addison Dickens (R) reached 25 miles walked and received the Walking Oaks Club t-shirt.

Active Acorns Field Trip

SOGA mar15The OHES Active Acorns Fitness Club went on a field trip to Southern Ohio Gymnastics Academy in Gallipolis, Ohio. The members enjoyed the variety of equipment and activities the gym had to offer. The Active Acorns Fitness Club educates students in grades 3-5 on various ways to get at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day.  Click for larger view.

100-Day Walkers

15 borghese weeseCongratulations to 5th grade students Makayla Borghese (L) and Alexis Weese (R), both of whom have achieved 100 days walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club. For their achievements, they received a tote bag. Both girls are motivated to continue walking until the end of the school year. Great job Makayla and Alexis!
