ffa banq

The Oak Hill FFA chapter held their annual FFA banquet on Sunday April 21, 2013.  This year our banquet speaker was Buckeye Man, who is a retired FFA teacher and local legend on the campus of The Ohio State University.  He educated members and guests on the importance of succeeding and how to take pride in whatever it is you do.  Throughout the evening countless awards were handed out to FFA members.

Star Awards were given to outstanding Greenhand members (1st year) Morgan Crabtree, Kayla McNeal, Brianna Simpson, Shelby Snodgrass, Matthew Gilliland, Jenna Spees, and Kelsey Gaines.  Star Chapter Farmer awards (2nd year) were given to Devin Coon, Michaela Harden, Brittany Hubbard, Emily Davis, Bradley Willis, Sydney Strite, and Alanta Lambert.  Star Ag-Production 1 (3rd year) Mikka French, Kole Strickland, and Shane Woolum.  Star Ag-Production 2 (4th year) Wesley Harden, Preston Taylor, and Luke Hammond.  The DeKalb Award winner this year went to senior Wesley Harden.  This award is received upon showing agriculture accomplishment.  Honorary Degree Recipients were also recognized as now part of the Oak Hill FFA chapter.  These people were Mike and Tammy French, Evan and Betty Davis, and Lunsford/Sardis Auto.

The new 2013-2014 officers and positions were also elected Sunday evening.  President, Devin Coon; Vice President, Bradley Willis; Secretary, Michaela Harden; Treasurer, Morgan Crabtree; Reporter, Kayla McNeal; Student Advisor, Brittany Hubbard; Historian, Shelby Snodgrass; Chaplain, Kelsey Gaines; Parliamentarian, Jenna Spees; Sentinel, Matthew Gilliland; and Assistant Officers, Emily Davis, Alanta Lambert, Sydney Strite, and Shane Woolum.  The Oak Hill FFA chapter would like to thank everyone who donated and helped our FFA Banquet be a success.
