The Oak Hill High School Class of 1973 held its 40-year reunion on June 8, 2013 at Bob Evans Farm Shelter in Rio Grande, Ohio. There were 28 classmates and 9 guests in attendance. A covered dish meal was enjoyed by the class.
Table decorations were the black and white school colors using vases of flowers and mini record albums with hit songs from 1973 written on them. Name tags were worn by each classmate sporting their senior picture. Each classmate was given a wooden school block with a picture of the old Oak Hill High School on the front and names of those deceased from the class on the back, made by Susan (Shaner) Morgan. There were many classmates who could not attend but sent their well wishes to the class. Those messages were printed, with their picture, and displayed on a poster for everyone to read. Carolyn (Burchett) Murphy made a memorial poster for those deceased in the class that displayed their pictures and obituaries.
Classmate, Pastor Les Farley read the names of those who had passed and the class observed a moment of silence in their honor. Classmate, Pastor Tim Jayne asked the blessing for the meal. A split the pot drawing was held and Peggy (Myers) Devers was the lucky winner.
A date was set for the 45th class reunion which will be on June 30, 2018. Members of the planning committee were Marilyn (Miller) Boggs, Darrell Boggs, Donna (Fienup) Coe, David Massie, Carolyn (Burchett) Murphy, Thelma (Clagg) Jenkins, Peggy (Myers) Devers and Susan (Shaner) Morgan.
