The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Leaders recognized Micaela Casto with The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence. Micaela represented Oak Hill High School and the Oak Hill community during the November 2014 Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington D.C. where she was inspired and motivated to achieve her dream of a career in the medical field of neonatology.

Micaela has also been inducted and awarded membership in the Society of Torch & Laurel. The Society of Torch & Laurel is a program developed by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars to recognize high school academic high achievers. This honors program allows the exclusive opportunity to apply for college scholarships. The Society of Torch & Laurel awards more than $100,000 in scholarships. Micaela will also be provided mentorship by a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Special notice was sent to the Governor of Ohio, John Kasich, noting Micaela’s academic achievement and status in The Society of Torch & Laurel.
