Mr. Randy Layton, Principal of Oak Hill High School, has announced the honor graduates for the Class of 2017. The valedictorians of this year’s graduating class are Ms. Carlee Dempsey, Ms. Abigail Hubbard, Ms. Nicole Love, and Mr. Tyler Rice, and the salutatorian is Mr. Nick Jenkins.
Oak Hill Seniors graduated on Friday, May 19, 2017.
Carlee is the daughter of Daryl and Sherry Dempsey. Her school activities include Lady Oaks Varsity Volleyball and Lady Oaks Varsity Basketball. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Class of 2017 President, Oak Hill FFA, High Q Team Member, Science Club, and Spanish Club. Carlee is also a member of the Medallions 4-H Club, Member of Antioch Christian Church, Jackson County Junior Leaders, and Jackson County Junior Fair Board. Ms. Dempsey plans to further her education at Ohio University and major in Pre-veterinary medicine (biological sciences).
Abigail is the daughter of Denver and Valerie Hubbard. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Yearbook, 2017 Class Treasurer, High Q Team, Science Club, and Student Council. Abigail attends Trinity Chapel of Jackson, Ohio and works at Oak Hill Public Library. Ms. Hubbard plans to attend Ohio University in Chillicothe and major in Health Service Administration.
Nicole is the daughter is of Brent and Chris Love. Her school activities are High School Choir, Yearbook, Spanish Club, Science Club, Choir President, National Honor Society, High Q Team Member, 2017 Class Secretary, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Nicole is also a member of Liberty Baptist Church and is on the “Praise Team” and choir at Liberty Baptist Church. Ms. Love will be attending Shawnee State University to major in the Dental Hygiene program.
Tyler is the son of David Rice. His school activities are Varsity Baseball and Varsity Football. He is also a member of High Q, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and Business Professionals of America. Mr. Rice will be attending Ohio University.
Nick is the son of Steve and Kelli Jenkins. His school activities are Varsity Football, Science Club, Drama Club 2012-2015, BPA 2014-2015, National Honor Society President, and Football Team Captain. Nick is also a member of World Outreach Media, FUEL Media, past volunteer at Warriors 4 Christ Summer Lunch Program, and National Church Residences Hospice. Mr. Jenkins plans to attend The Ohio State University and Major in Biological Sciences and Minor in Media Production.
