2018 Oak Hill Ministerial Undergraduate Scholarship

One or more scholarships of at least $250 each to be awarded by the Ministerial Association with the check made out to the College or University.

The successful applicant(s) must:

In addition to the completing the application, the applicant will need two written non-family references:

  • Pastor's reference (preferred) or Spiritual Mentor
  • Non-relative Adult Character Reference (e.g. teacher, coach, employer, neighbor)
  • A transcript of your high school grades

The Crystal Lloyd-Brigantti Women in STEM Scholarship

$500 Cash Award

Crystal Lloyd Brigantti is a graduate of the Oak Hill High School Class of 1996 and an officer in the United States Army. After graduating from Oak Hill, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Cincinnati in 2000 and went on to obtain a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2008. In 2018 she completed a Master of Business Administration from the College of William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business. As an Army officer, she has served in Georgia, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq, South Korea, Kentucky, Hawaii, and Virginia. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honors Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.

Crystal believes that education is the key to open any door. She has been fortunate to pursue her (many) educational interests while caring for the health of others and while serving her country. As a lifelong learner, she wants to encourage young women to pursue their educational dreams in STEM fields. She values academic excellence, strong personal values, and a philanthropic spirit. Crystal believes the undergraduate college experience may be the single most influential period in a person’s life, and she is excited for the opportunity to help a deserving young women achieve her educational goals.

Scholarship Eligibility

Must be a female entering a post-secondary education program in one of the following fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Award Type

The scholarship will be paid upon presentation of proof of enrollment as a full-time student in a post-secondary education program in a field that falls under the STEM umbrella. This proof must be presented to the Oak Hill Union Local School District Treasurer.

2018 BBB Center for Ethics: Ethic for Young People: Students of Integrity Scholarships

$1,000 scholarship for post-secondary education for high school Seniors from The BBB Center for Ethics.

Resolve ethical dilemmas in essay format.

Ethics isn’t always easy. Sometimes doing the right thing is work - hard work. BBB Center for Ethics is looking for students who know how to work.

The Center awards annual scholarships* to high school seniors who submit the best responses to an ethical question. *Winning essays show exceptional ethical awareness as evaluated by an independent panel of judges; winners receive a one-time scholarship of $1,000 towards post-secondary education expenses; there is a 1st Place Thomas Klinedinst scholarship of $2000.

2018 EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Scholarship

Sponsored by the Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service (PEASI)

Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service Inc. will be awarding scholarships to attend an EMT Program. PEASI will be paying for the applicant to attend Shawnee State’s EMT program starting in August 2018, as well as furnishing the books. There are 12 scholarships available.
