Oak Hill Schools retired teacher Marsha McCorkle (center) was presented an Outstanding Volunteer award on September 26, 2013 by the Ohio School Boards Association for her work with the Growing Oaks Food Program operating at Oak Hill Elementary School. In September of 2012, Mrs. McCorkle presented the new program to the Board of Education, at which time a resolution was adopted to work cooperatively with Growing Oaks to provide services to our children. With assistance from individuals, community and church groups, Growing Oaks collects food to be sent home in "backpacks" once a month for children in need. The Oak Hill Union Local School District is very appreciative of Marsha McCorkle's efforts, as well as our community's support for this valuable program, and feels she is very deserving of the OSBA Award.
