Walking Oaks Milestones
Congratulations to two OHES students for achievements in the Walking Oaks Club. Fifth grader Ashton Sturgill (L) has achieved 125 miles walked and earned a Fuel Up to Play 60 bag. Third grader Bentley Hamilton (R) achieved 50 miles walked and earned a water bottle. 100-Mile Walker
Congratulations to 4th grader Chloe Burchett for achieving 100 Miles walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club. She received a FUTP60 notebook and new jump rope for her efforts. Great job, Chloe! Walking Oaks Achievers
Congratulations to OHES 4th graders Matthew Boggs (L) for achieving 50 miles walked and Chloe Burchett (R) for achieving 75 miles walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club. 2019 Souper Bowl Food Drive
The 2019 OHES Souper Bowl Food Drive for the Growing Oaks Food Program and the Oak Hill Food Pantry was conducted, and the students and staff collected 3,020 food items for donation. The winning class with the largest donation was Philip Malone's 5th grade class, and they won a donut party for their efforts.
Active Acorns & OAKS Meet
Boats West (far left), an AEMT from the Jackson County EMS, visited the Active Acorns and OAKS Afterschool students. He discussed principles from the “Stop the Bleed” program, as well as other first aid tips for students. The students really enjoyed his presentation and asked many questions. October 2018
