Kindergarten has an average daily attendance of 15. Kindergarten students have been working hard on learning their letters and sight words in Reading. For Math, students have been working on their numbers and are now beginning addition. The students have also been enjoying winter crafts after homework time each evening.

FIRST GRADE
First grade has spent the first week of January focusing on Social Studies curriculum. Our Social Studies curriculum has included learning about Ohio and working with map skills. We look forward to upcoming weeks of art, dance, and drama.

SECOND GRADE
Second grade has been researching Penguins. We have made penguin habitats and penguin blubber. The students are having a great time with all the new learning experiences.

THIRD GRADE
January will be an exciting month for third graders. The month will begin by rocking it out with music, followed by spectacular science experiments. In Social Studies the students will take a trip around the world to see how other children live and create art projects from different countries.

FOURTH GRADE
The fourth grade will be working on the play the Ugly Duckling. They are learning about the components of basic dramatic performance. The students are excited to learn about musicals instruments and also will be doing some great science experiments.

FIFTH GRADE
In January the fifth grade students have caught boogie fever! The students have taught their teachers the Whip NaeNae
and were delighted when the teachers introduced the Cha Cha Slide. With the help of Just Dance 2014, students and teachers both have "tore the house down" with artists like; One Direction, Justin Timberlake, and Ray Parker Jr. Anyone for dancing
with the stars!!

NEXT PARENT ACADEMY
Our next Parent Academy will be held on January 21, 2016, 6:00-7:30pm. This Parent Academy will be an Instructional Night for parents, with the focus on reading. Active Acorns Welcome Guest

AA dec15 1Both the Active Acorns Black and White Stripe Teams welcomed special guest Carina Dickens of the OSU Extension Center at their December meetings.
