The second session of the OHES Active Acorns began on January 24, and Scott King taught the 38 members Krav Maga defense training. Scott’s presentation is always well received and very popular with the Acorns. Scott teaches Krav Maga at the YMCA, as well as conducts seminars at area schools and churches. We appreciate his enthusiasm for the Active Acorns Club!
The OHES Active Acorns Club welcomed Carina Dickens from the OSU Extention Center to its December meeting. Carina taught the Acorns about healthy eating habits, as well as easy exercises to do to increase physical activity. The members really enjoyed her presentation. The OHES Active Acorns Club is sponsored by Southern Ohio Medical Center and Holzer Health Systems.
Congratulations to 4th graders (and brothers!) Kayden Farney (L) and Devon Farney (R) for achieving 25 miles walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club and receiving the Club t-shirt for their efforts. Great job, boys! October 2017
