Active Acorns Meeting

activeacorn logoThe Active Acorns meeting featured the entertaining and energetic Community Health Nurse Dawn Richards, RN from Southern Ohio Medical Center. She talked to the students about healthy choices, relaxation techniques, and exercise. Dawn does an amazing job, and she loves visiting the Active Acorns each year. Southern Ohio Medical Center is a co-sponsor of the Active Acorns Club.     October 2018

Walking Oaks Feat

oct18 sturgill25Congratulations to 5th grader Ashton Sturgill, the first student to reach 25 miles walked in the OHES Walking Oaks Club for the 2018-2019 school year. Ashton was the top-miler last year, reaching over 250 miles walked, and his goal is to beat his record this year. The Walking Oaks Club is co-sponsored by the Jackson County Health Department and Southern Ohio Medical Center.     October 2018

OHES Awarded Grant

Oak Hill Elementary is excited to announce that we have been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Grant for the 2018-2019 OAKS After School program. Through this opportunity, the OAKS program will support high-quality, out-of-school time learning opportunities and related activities for students. OHE will be working in conjunction with the Gallia-Vinton Educational Service Center to provide this opportunity to our students. The program will be starting in October and more specific information will be forthcoming.
