Active Acorns Learn Healthy Habits
Southern Ohio Medical Center's Community Wellness Department nurse Dawn Richards, RN visited the Oak Hill Elementary's Active Acorn Fitness Club meeting in October 2014.
Student Artists Recognized
Mr. Michael and Mrs. Cratree and Oak Hill Elementary would like to recognize four students who, during the 2013-2014 school year, created the winning artwork for the school-issued agendas for the 2014-2015 school year. Student artists were Ariana Smith (Grade 2), Aleah Filarski (Grade 2), Abby Donley (Grade 4), and Aydan Adkins (Grade 5).
First Walking Oaks Milestone
Congratulations to Alexis Weese, a 5th grade student at OHES, who is the first student to reach the 25 days of walking milestone in the OHES "Walking Oaks Club." This club encourages students to walk at recess and at home to earn incentives. The club is sponsored by the Jackson County Health Department and Southern Ohio Medical Center.

FUTP60 Kickoff '14
Oak Hill Elementary recently had its annual Fuel Up to Play 60 Kick-Off and Food Drive for the Growing Oaks Food Program and Oak Hill Food Pantry. A total of 1,801 food items were collected for donation, exceeding last year's collection by over 1,000 items. Mrs. Smittle's 5th grade class won the class pizza party with 157 items donated.
OHES "Perfect" Students
OHES Principal Adam Michael and Assistant Principal Whitney Crabtree are pictured with OHES students at the August 2014 board meeting. The students were recognized for being "perfect" in various areas.
